Showcase Features: This is a garden that features two functional rain garden/dry creek areas, one in the main front yard, another in the long narrow piece along the driveway. Each of them provides a nice base for the native plants around them. In the front yard, the dry creek and rain garden run across the area, with strings of colorful boulders lining both edges. In the narrow space between the boulders and the patio you can see these lovely native plants: Big Sur Manzanita, Deer Grass, and a St. Catherine's Lace Buckwheat. The Verbena lilacina 'De la Mina' and a couple Deer Grass fronting the sidewalk add color and movement to the garden.

Other Garden Attractions: There is a laundry to landscape system (gray water reuse). In the side yard, 100 gallon rain barrels.

Gardening for Wildlife: Most of the native plants in the garden are star pollinator plants: Coffee Berry, Manzanita, California Fuschia, Penstemon, St. Catherine's Lace Buckwheat, White Sage and Black Sage.
